Terms of Service
These Terms are the agreement between you and Auramative. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Please read the Safety and Privacy pages too.
1. Who can use Auramative
You must be at least 16 years old to use Auramative. By creating an account you confirm that you are 16 or older and that the information you give us is accurate. One account per person.
2. Training, not therapy — no medical advice
Auramative is a self-improvement and social-skills training app. It suggests small, voluntary real-world social exercises and helps you track your practice. It is training, for general wellbeing and confidence.
- Auramative does not provide medical care, mental-health services, therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment.
- Its content and challenges are not a substitute for professional care. For any mental-health concern, consult a qualified professional.
- Using Auramative creates no therapist-, counselor-, or clinician–client relationship.
- Not for emergencies. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number, go to the nearest emergency room, or (in the US) call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
For your safety, never attempt a challenge while driving, operating machinery, or in any situation that needs your full attention or could put you or others at risk.
3. Challenges are suggestions you choose to do
Every challenge is an optional suggestion. You decide whether, when, and how to do it. You are responsible for acting lawfully, safely, and with respect for other people. Do not do anything that is illegal, dangerous, harassing, or that ignores another person's boundaries or consent. See the Safety page.
4. Assumption of risk
Real-world social interaction carries inherent risks — social, emotional, and physical — and outcomes depend on your own choices and on other people, which we do not control. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you voluntarily assume all risk arising from activities you choose to undertake in connection with the app, and you agree that Auramative is not responsible for the conduct of any third party or for the consequences of exercises you decide to perform.
5. Your account and acceptable use
- Keep your password secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Do not misuse the service: no automated abuse, scraping, reverse engineering, or attempts to break security or rate limits.
- Do not upload unlawful, hateful, or harassing content, or impersonate others.
- Do not exploit referrals, dares, or rewards through fake or automated accounts; we may reverse rewards obtained through abuse.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Auramative offers an optional paid plan (Pro). Where purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, billing, renewals, and refunds are handled by that store under its terms; subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you manage or cancel them in your store account. Prices and features may change with notice for future billing periods.
7. Your content
Your reflection notes and profile are yours. You grant us a limited licence to store and process them only to operate the app for you (for example, to show your history and, if you opt in, to generate a private AI debrief). We do not publish your notes or show them to other users. You are responsible for the content you submit.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its challenge library, brand, and design are owned by Auramative and its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own training. You may not copy or redistribute our content except as the app allows (for example, sharing your own progress cards).
9. Disclaimers
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or achieve any particular result.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Auramative and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any personal injury or loss arising from activities you choose to undertake. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Auramative against claims arising from your misuse of the app, your content, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others, to the extent permitted by law.
12. Termination
You can stop using Auramative and delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → delete account), which removes your training data. We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms.
13. Disputes and governing law
Contact us first. Before starting any formal proceeding, email a description of your dispute to hello@auramative.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's home jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Where binding individual arbitration and a class-action waiver are permitted and applicable to you, disputes that aren't resolved informally are settled by binding arbitration on an individual basis, and YOU AND AURAMATIVE EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL OR TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. Either of us may still bring an eligible claim in small-claims court. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing us with the subject line “ARBITRATION OPT-OUT” within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Nothing here removes rights you have under mandatory local consumer law.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Auramative after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
